For centuries we thought the beautiful wetlands of the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads were natural. But we had forgotten our past. What is their true story? The broads are great to explore by boat or on foot. My preference is by kayak to be able to get amongst the reedbeds. What are the wildlife surprises of Hickling Broad? And why have the broads not silted up and grown over, wooded, even?Yellow sit-upon kayak. A really good stable platform for exploring this area of the broads, even among the reedbeds, often on narrower channels than the one in the view. It has plenty of space for cameras and binoculars on the deck. The only challenge is an uncomfortable paddling position compared to a normal kayak. Still, not a problem if only going short distances between stops for wildlife and photos.
